Opening of the Egyptian Network for Innovative Technology - ENIT
History:
The Egyptian Network for Innovative Technology (ENIT) is a national network founded in 2011, ENIT was established through initiative by Dr. Khaled El-Saadany, Executive Manager of Grants, Innovation and Technology Transfer Center at Alexandria University, in cooperation with US Department of Commerce/Commercial Law Development Program and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) under the project “Universities and technology –based Economic Development” ENIT is the first Egyptian network of Universities, Association, Innovation centers, Technology Transfers & NGO, specialized in the technology transfer area.
Mission:

To promote and facilitate the technologies & innovations for the benefit of the community & industry;

To ensure and strengthen the technology transfer in the higher education institutions in Egypt and to enhance the cooperation between similar technology transfer bodies or organizations in the Arab region and with other regional and international technology transfer organizations.
Objectives:

Raise the awareness of Intellectual property Rights and Technology transfer within the Egyptian and Regional Community.

Support, promote and disseminate good practice of technology transfer in higher education in Egypt and enhance continuous improvement and capacity building for transfer offices and agencies in the region.

Advise, consult and establish standards and guidelines, to assist the development of new technology transfer agencies in Egypt.

Facilitate links and communication between technology transfer agencies nationally and internationally.

Provide platform for information on technology transfer standards, good practices, and professional institutional and programs reviewers among member organizations.

Facilitate research in the field of technology transfer in higher education in the Egyptian universities.

Where appropriate, represent the region and promote the interests of the region, e.g. vis-à-vis other networks and international organizations.

Provide service regarding the technology valuation, technology transfer and IP assistance.

Create a critical mass of Egyptian lawyers competent in technology transfer contracts, licensing and negotiation.

To facilitate the development of a working relationship between Academia and industry.

Help local industry improve its productivity and develop new technologies.

Commercialize, and transfer to the Egyptian business community, technologies developed in university laboratories.
Membership:
The membership is open for the different national & international organizations / institutions and individuals to be member in the first Technology Transfer Network in Egypt.
